15jan-unhcr-greece-basketballThe Office of the UN Refugee Agency in Greece (UNHCR), in cooperation with Ilysiakos B.C. is inviting the public to a basketball game of the 13th round of Greek Championship between Ilysiakos and Peristeri on Saturday, 19 January 2012 at 17:00 p.m. at the premises of the closed Municipal Stadium of Ilisia.

The basketball game with the motto "Score against Racism" is organized in the framework of the UNHCR awareness campaign «1 victim of racist violence is too many», which was launched as a reaction to the frequent attacks based solely on the color or origin of the victims, targeting refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, among them women and children.

The players will signal the start of the game hand in hand with refugee children hosted in reception centers for refugee families and unaccompanied minors, spreading the message of solidarity and social cohesion. Refugee children and teenagers will afterwards have the opportunity to watch the game.
