Italy does not yet have either a national Ombudsman or a national Committee on Petitions. However, it does have an extensive network of regional ombudsmen. The Regional Ombudsman for Piedmont is the coordinator of the regional ombudsmen in Italy. A link to his Website is accessible below:

Article 50 of the Constitution provides that all citizens may address petitions to the Chambers demanding legislative measures or presenting general needs.
Petitions may be submitted to the Chamber of Deputies by mail, by fax (number 0667609874) or e-mail ( [email protected] ), or by handing it over by hand to the offices.

Citizens’ Legislative initiative
Article 71 of the Constitution provides that citizens may introduce public initiatives consisting of a bill drafted in articles and supported by at least 50,000 voters.
The Brussels based United Nations Regional Information Centre for Western Europe - UNRIC provides information on UN activities to the countries of the region.
