The 30 finalists from this year's "Future We Want: DropbyDrop Ad Competition" have started their travels around Europe, in Copenhagen, Paris, Moscow and now Rovereto, Italy. The HUB Rovereto offered to showcase our 30 finalists in their workspace during the month of June, part of an exhibition called "Tanto per parlare di acqua" (Just to talk about water), its aim is to show some of the most interesting ads on water.
The HUB is designed to facilitate the creation of sustainable impact through collaboration. Their unique workspaces offered a perfect setting to display this year’s finalists. It also ended up being a most fitting location following the announcement that fellow Italian designer, Daniele Gaspari had won the overall jury prize.
The competition called on professionals and non-professionals to create a newspaper ad that inspired others to preserve water, now and for future generations. Mr. Gaspari won the competition for his ad "Wasting water will kill the future" which shows a water gun held to the head of an infant. A jury of experts led by France's advertising guru, Mr. Jacques Séguéla chose the ad from more than 3,500 ads submitted to the competition from 45 European countries.
The first prize, the Nordic Council of Ministers Award and a 5,000 euro cash prize, was handed over to Mr. Gaspari at a ceremony in Copenhagen on 5 June, World Environment Day, by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Denmark.
