25 February 2014 - This month, Syria is at the forefront of our newsletter. Sweden stands out as the most welcoming of the European countries – who, so far, have received only 0.5% of the total of Syrian refugees.

However, Syria‘s neighbouring countries have hosted refugees  equivalent to 20% of their own population – comparable to the UK receiving over 10 million refugees.

We also take a look at the Nordic countries and their leading role in the elimination of Syrian chemical weapons, and we have interviewed Rasmus Egendal of WFP who tells us about the difficult task of feeding the Syrian population.
