United Nations Unearthed at 70

08.10.2015 - Serving humanity since October 24, 1945, the United Nations was present throughout history’s most intimate moments.

UNEARTH Picture

A testament to the United Nations, UNEARTH showcases the Organization’s journey through a rapidly changing world and emphasizes some of the most important aspects of its main activities on human rights, development, humanitarian assistance, peace and security.

Created to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the United Nations by the UN Department of Public Information and the Gabarron Foundation, UNEARTH is the most revealing and broadest exhibition ever assembled reflecting the United Nations own perspective of key moments in history, encompassing the Organization’s seven decades serving humanity.

Previously on display in New York, Brussels, The Hague, Verdun and Lisbon, the exhibition features some of the most powerful photographs in the Organization’s vast iconic archives. It not only showcases the achievements of the United Nations, but also highlights the challenges facing the Organization in the next decades.

“Let us be inspired by the achievements that this exhibition documents to do even more for our collective future”
                                        – United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon
