UNRIC Internship - Digital Media Coordination

UNRIC Brussels is looking for an intern to assist with the development and management of Digital content, starting December/January 2016/17, for a period of 4 to 6 months.

Applicants should be graduates, preferably in the area of communications, journalism, digital marketing, information technology or social media. Candidates must have native written and oral communication skills in English. Working knowledge of French would be an asset.

UNRIC does not provide financial support for interns. All successful applicants are expected to make their own arrangements for travel to Brussels, lodging and living expenses during the four month internship period.

Core responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Digital Media coordinator and the Information Technology team on development, deployment and management of digital assets;
  • Assist in the development of brand awareness and online reputation building;
  • SEO (search engine optimization) and generation of inbound traffic;
  • Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools
  • Monitoring European social media trends and analysing perceptions/reactions;
  • Assist in managing UNRIC's social media channels: twitter, facebook, instagram and others - creation and publishing of relevant, original, high-quality content;
  • Take part and contribute to the daily maintenance of the websites and creation of web based content;
  • Assist with the creation of guidelines and trainings for staff;


Skills:

  • Native English communication skills, both written and oral;
  • Good understanding of French would be an asset;
  • Excellent written work and prior experience drafting content for web and social media platforms;
  • Experience managing digital media assets and social media channels - Good knowledge of Digital Marketing theories would be beneficial;
  • Excellent organizational skills and time management.

A certificate and report will be provided at the end of the internship.
