In the framework of World Soil Day<\/a>\u202f2023, FAO’s GSP is calling on\u202fchildren and teens, from ages 5 to 14, living all around the world, to use their imagination\u202fand\u00a0create a poster\u202fby kids for kids\u202f\u202fthat illustrates how healthy soil and clean water contribute to achieve sustainable and resilient agrifood systems. The contest should also help raise awareness on the importance of sustainable soil management.<\/p>\n

The objectives of this contest are:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Create colorful artworks that tell the story of healthy soil and clean water, emphasizing their key role in achieving sustainable and resilient agrifood systems for ensuring global food security.<\/li>\n
  2. Promote educational activities, engagement and participation of children and schools in soil science.<\/li>\n
  3. Develop empathy\/understanding between children of the world on soils, our silent allies.<\/li>\n
  4. Reflect on the different types of linkages and challenges associated with the loss of soil health and water purity, and in this context the need to achieve global food security.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    How to take part?<\/h3>\n

    Submit your drawing in a poster format<\/b>\u202fillustrating the close relationship\u202fbetween healthy soils, clean water, agrifood systems, nutrition, and food security. The aim is to raise awareness of the threat posed by\u202fsoil nutrients loss, pollution of water resources, the impossibility of ensuring the sustainability of agrifood systems and achieving food security under the motto ” Soil and water: a source of life”.<\/p>\n

    All young people who care about nature and soil and want to take part in this challenge are invited to participate<\/b>. Schools and colleges around the world can also compete. The competition is divided into the following categories:<\/p>\n

    Category A<\/b>\u202f| age range between\u202f5-10 years old<\/b><\/p>\n

    Category B<\/b>\u202f| age range between\u202f10-14 years old<\/b><\/p>\n
