As part of the Social Media 4 Peace initiative, the United Nations invites you to A Thousand Cuts<\/em> – 29 June, 2 p.m. CET<\/strong><\/p>\n The film tells the story\u00a0<\/em>of Maria Ressa, journalist\u00a0and co-founder of the online news site\u00a0Rappler<\/em>\u00a0in the Philippines\u00a0and her investigative journalism fighting for truth\u00a0and democracy\u00a0against social media disinformation campaigns in her country. Recently\u00a0awarded with the UNESCO Guillermo Cano Price for her work\u00a0and engagement for press freedom, Maria Ressa will join the debate following the screening.<\/p>\n After a short introduction from Louise Haxthausen<\/strong>, Director of the UNESCO Liaison Office in Brussels<\/em>, there will be a Q&A with…<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Panellists<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n How to Participate<\/strong><\/p>\n The event involves an online screening of the award-winning film\u00a0#AThousandCuts,\u00a0<\/em>followed by a panel discussion.
