Join Minecraft and UNESCO in a global build competition to design sustainable solutions for your communities that help us live in harmony with nature. Students are invited to address the UN Sustainable Development Goals in Minecraft: Education Edition with curriculum to support teachers. Submissions are due on November 19.<\/p>\n

This collaboration is an initiative of\u00a0UNESCO\u2019s Global Education Coalition<\/a>\u00a0and its launch coincides with a\u00a0Pre-COP26<\/a>\u00a0Youth4Climate event that will take place in Milan, Italy, from 28 to 30 September 2021.<\/p>\n

STEP BY STEP GUIDE<\/strong><\/p>\n

STEP 1: Set up Minecraft: Education Edition<\/strong><\/p>\n

Make sure you have the latest version installed. You can check your version and update if necessary with these instructions.<\/p>\n

STEP 2: Explore the challenge & SDGs<\/strong><\/p>\n

Invite your learners to join the Peace with Nature Challenge with our video trailer, lesson plan, and submission guide. Students will participate in small teams to design and build their sustainable solution in Minecraft: Education Edition.<\/p>\n

STEP 3: Build in Minecraft<\/strong><\/p>\n

Students build their sustainable solutions in the custom ‘Peace with Nature’ world available in the in-game lesson library for Minecraft: Education Edition. Learn about sustainable development by meeting characters in Minecraft.<\/p>\n

STEP 4: Submit to win Prizes<\/strong><\/p>\n

Create a short video and description of your Challenge build. Submit via the Challenge submission form by November 19 for the chance to win special Minecraft prizes. Winners will be announced in December.<\/p>\n

This collaboration is an initiative of the\u00a0Global Education Coalition<\/a>, a UNESCO-led platform for collaboration and exchange to protect the right to education during COVID-19 learning disruption and build more resilient education systems. Microsoft,\u00a0which owns Minecraft,\u00a0is one of almost\u00a0200 global members<\/a>\u00a0working to ensure that #learningneverstops for millions of students around the world.<\/p>\n

The Global Build Challenge 2021 is part of Minecraft\u2019s Education Edition and comes with a game and teacher\u2019s guide that are designed for classroom or remote learning, as school closures continue in many parts of the world.<\/p>\n
