Saturday, 9 June

 The Secretary-General will be in Canada to attend the Summit of the G7 in the Charlevoix region of Quebec. He will participate in an outreach session on “Healthy, productive and resilient oceans and seas, coasts and communities” with leaders of the G7, several other countries and international organizations.

The Deputy Secretary-General will be in Qingdao, China, to participate in the 18th Meeting of the Council of Heads of State of Member States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. She will also have bilateral meetings with high-level officials attending the event in China.

 Monday, 11 June

At 10:00 a.m. in the Economic and Social Council Chamber, the President of the General Assembly will hold his high-level event on financing the Sustainable Development Goals, under the theme “Breaking the Bottlenecks of Investment from Policy to Impact.”

Also at 10:00 a.m. in Conference Room 2, the third plenary meeting on the Special Committee on the Situation with regard to the Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples will take place.

At 11:00 a.m. in Conference Room 11, the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian affairs (OCHA) will hold a briefing for all Member States on the Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator Mark Lowcock’s recent visit to Sudan.

In the afternoon, the Security Council is expected to adopt a resolution on Libya. It will also be briefed and hold consultations on the United Nations–African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID).

In Geneva, at 9:30 a.m. in Press Room 1, the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) will hold a briefing on the latest developments on humanitarian access in Syria. The speaker will be Mr. Panos Moumtzis, Regional Humanitarian Coordinator for the Syria Crisis.

At 12:30 p.m. in Press Room 1, United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) will launch of The Global Peace Index 2018 (The UN Secretary General's Agenda for Disarmament and its links to building and supporting peace). The speakers will be Serge Stroobants, Brussels Representative, the Institute for Economics & Peace, and Renata Dwan, Director, UNIDIR.

Tuesday, 12 June

Today is the World Day Against Child Labour.

At 9:00 a.m. in Conference Room 4, the 11th session of the Conference of the State Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities will take place.

At 11 a.m., in S-237, there will be a press briefing on “Including Persons with Disabilities to Achieve Sustainable Development for All”. Speakers will be: H.E. Mr. Georgi Panayotov, Ambasador, Permanent Representative of Bulgaria to the UN, President of the Conference of States Parties to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities; Ms. Maria Soledad Cisternas Reyes, UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy on Disability and Accessibility; Ms. Theresia Degener, Chair of the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities; Ms. Catalina Devandas Aguilar, UN Special Rapporteur on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities; and Mr. Colin Allen, Chair of the international Disability Alliance

At 3:00 p.m. in Conference Room 2, the Expert Group Panel Discussion on Sustainable Development Goal 17 “Harnessing the Means of Implementation through Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships to Drive Transformation Towards Sustainable and Resilient Societies” will take place. This event is organized by the Division for Sustainable Development Goals, Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DSDG/DESA).

Wednesday, 13 June

 Today is International Albinism Awareness Day.

In the morning, the Security Council will be briefed on and hold consultations on UNOCA/LRA.

At 10:00 a.m. the General Assembly plenary will meet to elect eighteen members of the Economic and Social Council, at 10 a.m. in the General Assembly Hall.

Also at 10:00 a.m. in Conference Room 2, there will be the “New York Launch of the First Global Study on Smuggling of Migrants” organized by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)

In Geneva, at 9.30 a.m. in Press Room 1, the Human Rights Council will hold a press briefing on its 38th regular session (18 June-6 July) . A light breakfast will be served outside the Press Room. The speaker will be Ambassador Vojislav Šuc (Slovenia), President of the Human Rights Council (12th cycle).

At 11.30 a.m. in Room III, there will be a special embargoed press conference on the UN Refugee Agency’s Global Trends Report on Forces Displacement. The speaker will be Filippo Grandi, UN High Commissioner for Refugees.

Thursday, 14 June

Today is World Blood Donor Day.

In the morning, the Security Council will hold a troop contributing country meeting on the United Nations Disengagement Observer Force (UNDOF).

In the afternoon, the Security Council will be briefed on and hold consultation on the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali (MINUSMA).

Friday, 15 June

Today is World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

Today is also an official holiday at UN Headquarters (Eid al-Fitr) and the premises will be closed.
