On Friday 13 September UNRIC Italy attended the Opening Ceremony of Duemila30, a Youth Film Festival of Impact Filmmaking dedicated to young students, aspiring directors and cinephiles and focused on the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda.

Organized by the Cultural Association Quindici19, the Festival avails itself of the collaboration of UNRIC and is realized within the National Cinema Plan for the School promoted by the Ministry of Education, University and Research (MIUR) and by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities (MiBAC).

The Second Edition of Duemila30 involved 90 high school and university students from over 25 countries, for an experience aimed at becoming aware of the role that cinema and the audiovisual have in the dissemination of the Agenda 2030. Three days of screenings, workshops and panels to open an inter-generational and intercultural dialogue aimed at understanding and enhancing the deep and broad meaning of sustainability.

At the Opening Ceremony at Palazzo Reale, UNRIC Italy gave to the boys and girls involved an overview about both UNRIC’S work and the 2030 Agenda and its related 17 SDGs. The aim was to offer tools to further deepen their knowledge of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to reflect on the importance of sustainability education – especially of the younger generations – as a means to achieve a global change.
