Queen of Ireland coverConor Horgan’s documentary follows the journey of Rory O’Neill and his alter ego, drag queen Panti Bliss, from growing up in the town of Ballinrobe, Ireland, to striding the world stage as an icon for LGBTI rights and being a powerful voice during Ireland’s referendum on gay marriage in 2015.

 

 

 

 

The screening was followed by a discussion on the evolution of LGBTI rights worldwide with:

  • Rory O’Neill, performer and activist
  • Catherine De Preux de Baets, Human Rights Officer, High Commissioner for Human Rights
