Problemski Hotel

by Manu Riche

Problemski Hotel film cover This film tells the life of Bipul. A never-ending waiting queue as a purgatory awaiting Belgian citizenship. The situation worsens in December, but the arrival of Lidia, a young Russian girl, renders his experience less solitary. A dark and desperate story with a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel.

Screening organised by the International Organization for Migration (IOM), in collaboration with Ciné-ONU, as part of the 2017 edition of the Global Migration Film Festival. Initiated in 2016, this yearly event gathers worldwide film-makers, well known or beginners, to share stories about migration. It is the occasion for the international community to celebrate diversity and the unique contribution from migrants to the countries in which they live.

In 2016, 89 countries from five continents participated in the Festival. In 2017, it took place in more than 100 countries.

The closing evening of the festival took place on the occasion of International Migrants Day (18 December).
