To mark the entry into force of the Charter of the United Nations (UN) in the fall of 1945, “United Nations Day” is held every October in Bonn. For around 50 years, Germany has also been one of the forces that have been committed to the principles of the United Nations with vigor and ideals and have taken on the global challenges. In 1973, both German states at the time joined the UN at a General Assembly in New York.
