Danish Camilla Brückner new Director of the UN Office in Brussels

Camilla Brückner is the new Director of the UN Office in Brussels. Brückner most recently served as the Director of the UNDP Nordic Representative Office (2012-2021) and manager of the UN City and joint UN functions in Copenhagen. Previously she served as Deputy Chief of Staff and Deputy Director of the UNDP Executive Office (2008 – 2012).

As a diplomat Brückner served more than 13 years in the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and latest as Deputy Permanent Representative in New York 2005-2008.

From 1996 to 1999, Camilla worked in the European Commission as a policy advisor on human rights in the field of humanitarian affairs, and earlier she worked in DG DEVCO where she evaluated the Commission’s development programs in Africa and introduced the logical framework approach.

Camilla began her career in Brussels as a Stagiaire in the EU Commission followed by 2 years in the private sector and then as a researcher at the Centre for European Policy Studies, working on the accession of the Nordic countries and Austria to the EU.

She is a graduate of the London School of Economics and Political Science and the Copenhagen Business School.
