The Reham al-Farra Memorial Journalism Fellowship (RAF) invites talented young journalists from developing countries and economies in transition to apply for the 2025 programme. Applicants must be between the ages of 22 and 35 and have an interest in the work of the United Nations (UN) and some experience reporting on issues of importance to the UN. The four-week programme will take place in September and October 2025. The application for the 2025 RAF fellowship is currently open until 31 March 2025.
The RAF fellowship enables selected journalists to gain invaluable insights into the work of the Organization, enhancing their understanding and interest, and thereby allowing them to report accurately on UN priority issues in their own communities. The fellowship provides them opportunities to learn from UN speakers and media experts, as well as to meet with senior UN officials, to receive training, and to establish ties with UN offices to support their future reporting.
Previous RAF fellows produced high-quality coverage of the UN General Assembly and related events and developed a diverse international network, positively impacting their careers.
