Celebrating those transforming the lives of migrants, displaced people and their host communities
To mark its 75th anniversary, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) presents the Crossroads Award, a global award recognising individuals, organizations and initiatives that have made an exceptional contribution to improving the lives of migrants, displaced people, and the communities that welcome them.
Every day, around the world, there are people who show up, help others, innovate, inspire and go above and beyond to transform the lives of those most vulnerable. By showcasing their impact, the Crossroads Award aims to inspire others, encourage action, and help drive positive change for migrants, displaced people and host communities in some of the most challenging circumstances.
Who can be nominated?
The Crossroads Award is open to a wide range of changemakers, including:
- Community-based organizations and NGOs
- Local leaders and volunteers
- IDP-led and migrant-led organizations or initiatives
- Individual champions working to improve the lives of migrants and displaced persons
- Grassroots and faith-based initiatives
- Academic and research institutions
- Private sector partners
Governments, Member States and entities holding Observer Status are not eligible for nomination.
What kind of work does the Award recognize?
Eligible nominations should demonstrate meaningful impact in areas such as:
- Providing shelter, healthcare, legal assistance, education or psychosocial support
- Protecting the rights, dignity and well-being of migrants and displaced people
- Promoting inclusion, social cohesion and community integration
- Developing innovative and community-led solutions to migration and displacement challenges
- Strengthening resilience, livelihoods and self-re
