UNITAR-SCYCLE: Foundational training on Digital Product Passports for a Circular Economy

#UNITAR-SCYCLE welcomed 20 participants from across the UN Campus in Bonn and external organizations to a Foundational training on Digital Product Passports (#DPP) for a #Circular Economy.

The event was particularly special as it was the first meeting held in our newly refurbished conference room on the 19th floor – a fantastic new space for collaboration, learning, and knowledge exchange. We were delighted to inaugurate it together with colleagues from UNFCCC, UNESCO-UNEVOC, UNSSC, UNCCD.

As the EU prepares to introduce Digital Product Passports across key product categories, understanding their role is becoming increasingly important. During the interactive session, participants explored:

  • The role of DPPs in advancing the circular economy
  • The evolving policy and standardization landscape
  • Practical implementation and real-world examples
  • Opportunities and challenges for organizations preparing for the transition

Delivered as part of the EU-funded #CE-RISE project, the training sparked valuable discussions on how digital tools can accelerate the shift towards a circular economy.
