The Generic Job Openings (GJO) for the roster membership in the UN Single Electoral Roster at the D1, P5, P4 and P3 levels are open for applications in the UN Careers Portal, Inspira (https://careers.un.org), from 22 January 2020 until 26 February 2020.

These rosters are used to fill field electoral positions in all UN entities involved in providing electoral assistance, including in UN peace operations, special political missions, UNDP and UNOPS electoral projects.

Fluency in English or French is required. Candidates also fluent in other languages, in particular, Arabic, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish are encouraged to apply.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (Work Experience) FOR CURRENT JOB OPENINGS

Principal Electoral Affairs Officer, D-1

A minimum of fifteen years of progressively responsible experience in elections and related areas is required. Electoral experience in a field operation of the United Nations Common System or a comparable international organization or other relevant electoral experience is required. Previous experience in managing a diverse team at senior level is required. At least seven years of experience in supervising, implementing, supporting or advising on electoral processes is required. Electoral experience in developing countries is desirable. Work experience in post-conflict situations is desirable. Experience in bilateral or multilateral negotiation is desirable.

Senior Electoral Affairs Officer, P-5

A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience in elections and related areas is required. Electoral experience in a field operation of the United Nations Common System or a comparable international organization or other relevant electoral experience is required. At least five years of experience in supervising, implementing, supporting or advising on electoral processes is required.

Previous experience in managing a team at the senior level is desirable. Electoral experience in developing countries is desirable. Work experience in post-conflict situations is desirable. Experience in bilateral or multilateral negotiations is desirable.

Electoral Affairs Officer, P-4

A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in elections and related areas is required. Electoral experience in a field operation of the United Nations Common System or a comparable international organization or other relevant electoral experience is required. At least three years of experience in supervising, implementing, supporting or advising on electoral processes is required. Experience in developing countries is desirable. Work experience in post-conflict situations is desirable. Experience in managing projects is desirable. Previous experience in managing a team is desirable. Experience in bilateral or multilateral negotiations is desirable

Electoral Affairs Officer, P-3

A minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in elections and related area is required. Electoral experience in a field operation of the United Nations Common System or a comparable international organization or other relevant electoral experience is required. At least two years of experience in implementing, supporting or advising on electoral processes is required. Work experience in post-conflict situations and/or developing countries is desirable.
