On Thursday, 16 April 2020, WHO/Europe will hold its weekly virtual press briefing with Dr Hans Henri P. Kluge, WHO Regional Director for Europe, and technical experts.
The briefing will provide a short situation update on COVID-19 in the WHO European Region, covering the epidemiological status and disease data.
It will also present the key considerations that countries should take as they plan response “transitioning”, the easing of restrictions and shifting of strategies to manage the pandemic. Core elements of a new WHO/Europe transition framework and guidance will be introduced, including the epidemiological, social, economic, behavioural and health-system implications of different measures and scenarios.
The virtual press conference will also be broadcast live on the WHO/Europe Facebook account.
