To mark the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, the UN in Brussels has the pleasure of inviting you to a screening of the documentary “The Veto” by Tim Slade.

Description

To mark the 80th anniversary of the United Nations, the UN in Brussels has the pleasure of inviting you to a screening of the documentary “The Veto” by Tim Slade.

This event is organised by the United Nations in Brussels, and the Australian Embassy to Belgium & Luxembourg and Mission to the EU & NATO.

The film will be followed by a panel discussion and a reception courtesy of the Australian Embassy to Belgium & Luxembourg and Mission to the EU & NATO.

Synopsis

For 80 years, the veto power in the UN Security Council has sparked endless debate. With conflicts multiplying and multilateralism under pressure, can its use be reformed to better address threats to international peace and security?

Language and runtime

The documentary will be in English, with French subtitles, and has a runtime of 58 minutes.

Practical details

Check-in at the cinema starts at 18:00. The screening starts at 18:30.
