International Women’s Day screening: ‘Women Don’t Cycle’

To celebrate International Women’s Day, the United Nations invites you to the “Women Don’t Cycle” screening.

When? Friday, 8 March, 4.30 PM
Where? CINEMATEK, Brussels

Doors open at 4:00 PM

Synopsis

A film about what it means to be a woman cycling in different countries around the world. When Manon left to cycle from Brussels to Tokyo, she took a camera with her and met other women cyclists along the way.

The screening will be introduced by: Camilla Brückner, Director UN/UNDP Office in Brussels.

A panel discussion will follow the film

Panelists include:

  • Manon Brulard, film Director.
  • Florence Raes, Director, UN Women Brussels Office.
  • Philip Amaral, Director of Policy and Development, European Cyclists’ Federation (ECF).
  • Katja Lenzing, acting Head of Unit, Gender Equality, DG Justice & Consumers, European Commission.
  • A representative from the Belgian Government.

Moderated by Caroline Petit, UNRIC Deputy Director.

 

The documentary will be in French, with English subtitles, and has a runtime of 47 minutes.
