The United Nations Statistics Division (UNSD) of the Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA) launched this internet based data service for the global user community. It brings UN statistical databases within easy reach of users through a single entry point. Users can now search and download a variety of statistical resources of the UN system.

UN Member States on the Record

On the International Day for Universal Access to Information, the Dag Hammarskjöld Library has relaunched its popular website UN Member States on the Record. The new version features an updated and modern layout with data visualizations that make finding relevant documentation a breeze. Powered by the UN Digital Library and Ask DAG, the Library’s knowledge base of frequently asked questions, UN Member States on the Record is the one-stop shop for Member State-related information and provides direct access to documents that reflect a country’s positions.

Diplomatic Pulse: Search Engine for Official Press Releases of UN Member States

Developed jointly by the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs’ (DPPA) Innovation Cell and the Qatar Computer Research Institute (QCRI) at the Hamad Bin Khalifa University, Diplomatic Pulse is a new web tool that allows users to quickly search official statements and press releases from all UN Member States. The initiative aims to advance data analytics and internal capacities across the UN family, in line with the Secretary-General’s Data Strategy.

The United Nations welcomes you to our interactive e-Government Knowledgebase (UNeGovKB). The Database was created by the Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) to provide governments and all members of civil society easy access to this valuable information for research, education and planning purposes. We invite you to use the interactive UNeGovKB to view, sort, and print information from the UN E-Government Survey, or download copies of the annual (2004, 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020 and 2022) United Nations E-Government Survey. The United Nations E-Government Survey presents a systematic assessment of the use and potential of information and communication technologies to transform the public sector by enhancing efficiency, effectiveness, transparency, accountability, access to public services and citizen participation in the 193 Member States of the United Nations, and at all levels of development.

UN Comtrade Database

The United Nations Comtrade database aggregates detailed global annual and monthly trade statistics by product and trading partner for use by governments, academia, research institutes, and enterprises. Data compiled by the United Nations Statistics Division covers approximately 200 countries and represents more than 99% of the world’s merchandise trade. Information can be extracted in a variety of formats, including API developer tools for integration into enterprise applications and workflows. Subscribers receive access to additional functionality to improve efficiency and specificity.
