Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

UN System SDG Implementation: Online database of implementation of the SDGs by the UN System
The UN System SDG Implementation online database is the UN family’s repository of actions, initiatives and plans on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the sustainable development goals (SDGs). It contains information made available by over 50 UN system entities. Regularly updated through surveys to the member entities of the Executive Committee on Economic and Social Affairs, as well as UN Conventions secretariats and research institutions (ECESA Plus), it serves as a useful reference tool for learning about what UN system entities have been doing in support of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the sustainable development goals (SDGs). The information provided serves as additional inputs to inform relevant intergovernmental processes, including the General Assembly (GA), the Partnership Forum and Coordination Segment of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) under the auspices of GA and ECOSOC, complementing the inputs to HLPF from ECOSOC functional commissions and other intergovernmental bodies and forums.

Open SDG Data Hub

SDG Acceleration Actions
More than ever, people and countries everywhere rely on the United Nations to rise to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic – a human crisis. The Secretary-General has emphasized that the creativity of the response must match the unique nature of the crisis – and the magnitude of the response must match its scale.
Moving ahead on the Decade of Action for SDG implementation, the recovery from the COVID-19 is an opportunity for governments and stakeholders alike to Build Back Better their societies. The SDG Acceleration Actions online database is a tool to help inspire and mobilize actions around the world to promote the implementation of the SDGs, as well as build resilience and bring inclusive recovery in the context of new realities post COVID-19, so that the global economy, planet and people we serve could emerge stronger together from the crisis.

Voluntary National Reviews Platform
As part of its follow-up and review mechanisms, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development encourages member states to “conduct regular and inclusive reviews of progress at the national and sub-national levels, which are country-led and country-driven” (paragraph 79). These national reviews are expected to serve as a basis for the regular reviews by the high-level political forum (HLPF), meeting under the auspices of ECOSOC. As stipulated in paragraph 84 of the 2030 Agenda, regular reviews by the HLPF are to be voluntary, state-led, undertaken by both developed and developing countries, and involve multiple stakeholders.
The voluntary national reviews (VNRs) aim to facilitate the sharing of experiences, including successes, challenges and lessons learned, with a view to accelerating the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. The VNRs also seek to strengthen policies and institutions of governments and to mobilize multi-stakeholder support and partnerships for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals.
This online review platform is dedicated to compiling information from countries participating in the voluntary national reviews of the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.

Data Futures Platform (UNDP)
The Data Futures Platform brings together data from the UN system and partners to advance integrated development solutions in support of the 2030 Agenda. The platform includes raw data sets, simulators and actionable insights, allowing users to both run their own estimation and access relevant analyses to inform policies, programmes and advocacy efforts. Powered by UNDP, this one-stop shop for multidimensional analyses features unique opportunities for collaboration around strategies and solutions that seek to build back better.

Urban Agenda Platform (UN Habitat)
The New Urban Agenda Platform is the knowledge portal for gathering voluntary reports, best practices, and data – both quantitative and qualitative, for reviewing the progress made in implementing the New Urban Agenda to achieve the 2030 Agenda of the Sustainable Development Goals.
This platform is for national governments, subnational governments, local authorities, civil societies, UN entities, private sector, regional organizations and all other key stakeholders to voluntarily share their contributions to the implementation of the global agenda from the global, regional, national and local level. A one-stop shop for both reporting and learning, the platform supports knowledge exchange, builds interaction and supports capacity development to establish communities of practice for sustainable urbanization development.
